From the end of May the water becomes rare, leaving place with the drought. The herb will not feed any more sheeps having crossed all winter in plains. It is thus necessary to begin the long road of high mountain pastures. Every year, the herds of sheeps leave Provence to find a herb more beautiful, more green and fatter.

The roads of men are often full of mystery and not all lead to Rome. Did you hear about the Salt Road, the darkest one, which meanders through Sahara ? Likewise, will the Spice Road keep its promise, long deserted by its Arabian Nights castles ? And the nearly inaccessible Silk Road, more uncertain now than in the age of Marco Polo, who knew many wonders of the world ?

Camel and cattle breeders set out for the mela (fair) when the new Kartik moon is spotted with many looking forward to a journey of well over a hundred kilometers of arid desertscape. As the moon builds up to the purinama (full), they arrive from every direction using every imaginable mode of transportation; in camel caravans, on foot, in tractors, trucks, carts and buses.

India, especially Rajasthan is associated with the colours of women clothing and turbans of men. The turbans and the saris are not improvised! Just look at these men and women, who after washing and drying themselves, put on their new piece of tissue: a real know-how that speaks volumes about the origin of the person.
